OWNA 2021 Road Map - Major Features & Enhancements

We just wanted to share some of the major features that we are working on for 2021. We will continue to release small incremental changes to the platform as we work on these major components — so the system is always constantly being innovated on. We are really excited about what’s coming up and hope you all are too.

  1. Complete HR & Payroll Platform

We already have a few of these components built into the system but this year we are going to build out a complete HR/Payroll solution that covers everything from:

  • Interpreting the awards
  • LMS
  • Onboarding
  • Single Touch Payroll
  • Payruns (with ABA files)
  • Payslips
  • Uploading Receipts/Reimbursements
  • Super Clearing
  • Staff Induction
  • Exit Interview
  • Ability to integrate with Xero, MYOB, QuickBooks, Reckon and more…
  • And so much more….

Pricing and availability will be announced in due time.


2. Enhancements to Payment Platform

We are working with our partners and other solution providers to be able to offer quicker clearing on your Direct Debits. We will be introducing:

  • Same Day Clearing as well as
  • Next Day Clearing

This is on top of the standard 3 business day clearing that is already in place. This will help centres improve cash-flow (which we all need is the life blood of any business). Fees for these excellent offerings which will be outlined closer to the time it is released.

We are also working on more Reporting to better help your reconciling processes.


3. CCS Invoicing/Billing

As mentioned we will be streamlining how invoices and statements are generated to remove some of the cumbersome steps that are currently in place to avoid confusion and improve the whole process. You won’t have to refresh your attendances, balance your accounts and generate your invoices. You will be able to tap a button and it will automatically do everything that needs to be done.

We are also removing the invoices to go fully with the family transaction statement avoiding confusion between the two. We know for those that love the invoicing method it might seem strange but rest assure the new method will be so much more streamlined.


4. Design your Own Observation/Portfolio Template

Our standard templates are bare essentials. We always get requests from centres asking to add this and that. And whilst we love to do it, we can’t easily since it will affect other centres as well. So we are going to look at building a feature which will allow centres to design their own template as well as share OR sell it to other centres on our Digital Content Store.

These templates will then be able to be used when putting up a post and displayed accordingly.

5. Build Your Own Program

Continuing from #4, this is a major piece that we are still scoping out and will allow our centres to design their own program rather than using our templated one. Same concept as the above feature it will allow Centres to design how their Programming is laid out and better plan education programs for children in their care.

Being a massive undertaking, this is dependent on how we go with the other features above but it is definitely one thing that we know centres have been asking for and we want to bring this to fruition for them.


2021 is going to be a massive year for OWNA as we build on the momentum from 2020 and continue to develop what we think is the most innovative and complete solution on the market for Early Education and ultimately beyond.

I am personally excited to see all these things come to life as I am sure our centres are as well.
